Colonoscopy examination 大腸鏡檢查

On the day of procedure, please bring appointment slip and admission documents for admission arrangement. All personal adornments e.g. rings, necklaces and watches will be removed before the procedure. You should also remove nail polish before the examination.

在檢查當日，請帶同預約紙及入院文件辦理入院手續。在檢查前，你需要脫下個人飾物如戒指、頸鏈及手錶。若有指甲油，也請於檢查前卸除。

The colonoscopy procedure will take around 30-60 minutes. During colonoscopy, intravenous sedation will be given. You will wake up around 1-2 hours after the procedure but the effect of the sedatives will take a day to wear off. You are advised to take leave from work on the day of examination. You should not drive, operate machinery or make important decision after colonoscopy. You will need a family member or friend to accompany you to go home.

大腸鏡檢查過程大概需要30至60分鐘。你會在檢查前接受鎮靜麻醉。你會在檢查後大概一至兩小時後甦醒，麻醉藥力亦會在當天逐漸散去。我們建議病人在檢查當日請假，並避免駕駛、操作機械或作出重要決定。病人需要在親友陪同下才可回家。
